2020 TechFest Summary Available

The goal of the TechFest program is to expose school-age children and their parents to the STEMM fields(science, technology, engineering math and medical technology) with the hope to influence the children to enter careers in these fields.  While we cannot measure the number of students who ultimately select STEM careers, we can measure the number of students who attended. A chart of this year’s attendance is below.

From Fighting Force to Workforce: How Rebuilding American Manufacturing Starts with Workshops for Warriors
Thursday, April 30, 2020 | 3 p.m. EDT

Join us April 30 to hear from Hernán Luis y Prado, founder and CEO of Workshop for Warriors, as he discusses how the need for manufacturing and manufacturing resiliency in the U.S. has never been greater. According to recent data, America will need to fill 4.6 million manufacturing jobs over the next decade, and 2.4 million of those positions are currently unfilled due to a lack of skilled employees.
Complicating the issue is our over-reliance on global supply chains, which are sensitive to macroeconomic unpredictability, driven by factors such as international political instability, natural disaster, and as we see now, pandemic conditions. To preserve our strong economy, and way of life, we need to unite as Americans and commit to rebuilding an advanced manufacturing workforce across our nation.
