The goal of the TechFest program is to expose school-age children and their parents to the STEMM fields(science, technology, engineering math and medical technology) with the hope to influence the children to enter careers in these fields. While we cannot measure the number of students who ultimately select STEM careers, we can measure the number of students who attended. A chart of this year’s attendance is below.

SME, Ch 18, Dayton
Kiddos had the opportunity to experience all
SME Chapter 18 did not exhibit at the event this year but, the chapter did donate $2,200. to support the STEM event at Sinclair CC. Jim Woessner is the sponsorship chairman and is tasked with raising about $30K per year to stage the event.
In addition to TechFest, Chapter 18 also donated $2,000 to University of Dayton’s new SME Chapter.
